Default 2008 Electric Drive Solenoid slow to respond?

Hi

First time user. This cart when left sitting for a hour or more will not react immediately to turning on the key. When left overnight it can take as long as 2 minutes for the "click" of the solenoid. More frequent use results in shorter wait times. Leave the key on and there is no trouble. Batteries are right and properly charged. Swapped solenoid. Swapped controller. Bypassed run/tow switch.

Mystified?

Thx much

Yes - elimate that too. It's like a capacitor needs to be charged before the solenoid will engage. Quite the head scratcher.

Thx much

Hey Hi Tech!

That sounds like a fix........but I have no idea how to accomplish that. Can you advise?

Thx very much

It might cause the controller to think the contactor is welded, as the cart was never equipped with a precharge resistor. It wont cause any damage to try it. A precharge resistor goes on the two large terminals of the solenoid.
