Cool Yamaha G16E 4 seater mods

G16E four seater 10 foot long

Just purchased my first cart, it had an additional rear facing seat I removed. Plan on ordering a jakes 5" lift kit, 12" rims with 4" offset and 20" tires.

Runs like a champ although slow, and half speed climbing hills. Any suggestions, ideas, advice, would be welcome. Thank you in advance.

Bigger controller and HD f&r upgrade, bigger cables. This will get you better torque & hillclimbing, not much speed. Also, going to 48v always yields good results for 33% increase in speed, the upgrade controller (alltrax Spm48400 or larger) will allow the voltage increase to 48v, or will increase torque but not much speed @36v. Increasing the voltage will require a 48v solenoid and battery charger, plus 48v worth of batteries, stock motor will do fine

CGTECH thank you for the info, I would like to do this little by little due to funding. How will lift kit and 20" tires affect performance as is? Again thank you.

Bigger tires are going to hurt torque, while increasing speed on flats (hill speeds will suffer). Unfortunately, the best cure for the lost torque is the bigger controller, which requires better cables & solenoid ($+$+$).

And also an FnR switch is this correct?

I agree. Too many toys have to prioritize.

Yes f&r is weak point. 2 options exist to solve this. One is ScottyBs reversing contactor setup. The other (if you are a little braver) is described in a thread i posted about upgrading G14 & G16 F&r with ezgo parts.
