2009 G29 - battery question
Hi all, looking for a little wisdom from you
I have a 2009 G29 that I have recently replaced the batteries (with 4x Trojan T-1275 batteries) on as the old ones were barely lasting a full round of golf After installing the new batteries and heading to the course with much anticipation of having loads of juice left when finishing the round I was a little saddened to basically use a full charge over the round The cart has a 48v - 12v reducer on it that runs a JBL stereo, LED lights and a USB charger - none of these were utilized when playing. Can anyone offer their 2 cents worth if this is to be expected when installing new batteries - do they take a while to come up to optimal charging ? Can anyone thing of reasons why 4x 12V batteries would drain this quick, I used to get 2 full rounds out of the batteries when I purchased the cart 2nd hand Any advise would be greatly appreciated |

Re: 2009 G29 - battery question
Did you FULLY charge the new batteries before taking the cart out? Also carts should be charged anytime they are not being used; waiting 2 rounds of golf before charging hurts their overall life. Are your brakes dragging? Are your tires low on air? These two things cause drag and drag shortens battery endurance....

Re: 2009 G29 - battery question
New batteries need "breakin" before they will give you maximum capacity. Red the threads on this.

Re: 2009 G29 - battery question
New batteries need 50 or more cycles to reach their "plateau" of full capacity. These cycles should be as "shallow discharge" or light use as is practical. Always charge after every use (new batteries or old).

Re: 2009 G29 - battery question
Many thanks guys
To answer the questions, yes the batteries were fully charged before use and I do have the cart plugged in when not in use (into an auto charger - Delta Q) The cart itself was recently serviced by the New Zealand Yamaha distributor who to a full service, brakes etc. I will take the wee beast for a few light runs around the local course (nice and flat) and keep an eye on the battery performance Thanks again for the comments |

Light runs and recharge is the break in method.
