Default Yamaha g16E limo joy ride damage

Funny story, took golf cart to camp ground for Father's Day weekend, it ran great had a great time until it was stolen/borrowed. Camp ground staff found it in the deep woods stuck on top of a tree trunk. Still runs but no where close to the same. Damage found as follows front end hit bumper torn, hood was caved in but was able to pull back out. Both rails scraped/gouged, rear bumper hit with tree (bark still on bumper), one of the batteries has a melted positive post and shielding melted, not sure of any undercarriage damage. Symptoms as follows starts fine then slows down considerably, will barely go up slight hill. Battery gauge shows batteries at full charge.

Any ideas of what happened to cause this change in performance? Thank you in advance.

I'd start with the batteries. The perpetrators beat the crap out of your cart and you've got a melted battery post. It's not going to perform like it used to...

Bummer! Too bad they didn't break their neck while they were at it!

Def start with that battery post repair...any weak connections will make cart perform poorly.

So far $1,200.00 in body/suspension damage. Still in shop for motor/power problems.
