G22E starts then stops

I recently purchased a 2006 G22E electric golf cart. I put new batteries on it when I got it and they are fully charged and installed correctly.
My problem is this: It will go about 25 feet forward and then just quits. You can push the pedal down again and nothing happens. Just like you turned off the key. However, you can put it in reverese and the buzzer sounds and it backs up. Then, you can put it in forward and go another 25 feet and it dies again. I bought it with the house I just bought so I dont have any history on it. Other than the previous owner said it needed batteries.
Any ideas are much appreciated. Noone works on Yamahas around here.
