Default long term charging

I have a 2012 electric yamaha and I would like to know if I can leave the charger on for 2 weeks without the fear of a fire starting? I have a Yamaha charger/maintainer.

Check the battery water levels before you leave the cart on charge. THe water should be 1/4 inch above the lead plates.

On my charger once the batteries are charged the charger shuts off.It wont come back on until it is unplugged from the wall outlet and plugged back in again.

Which charger is the one you are using?

It's the big one that came with it from Yamaha that has 5 lights on the front panel.I think you can also change the wires around to make it a 36V charger but i'm not sure as I havn't looked at it that close.I can give you the numbers off the charger when we get back to the lake this weekend as we are home now.

2 weeks should be fine with no charger connected. Just make sure the batteries are topped up on water.

Charge it fully, then leave it. Charge it again when you return.

In AZ we leave carts parked outside under a cover in the summers for 4-5 months. Some people leave a charger on them, some don't.

I can almost guarantee you that your current charger will turn back on should the batteries fall below 46v.

If it says "maintainer" on it, then i can be left indefinitely, with proper water manitinence.

cgtech, It is a DPI 1-48017-04 charger. It doesn't have a guage on the front panel but it does have a panel held on with two screws. That is where you change the jumpers for different voltages.I was wrong about changing the charger to 36V but you already knew that.

No fire danger for 2 weeks. Get me all the numbers of that tag. The Dpi charger built for Yamaha OEM use had 2 rare features to find in a DPI charger: 1- it has a relay, so it does not have a "float charge" mode (clicks when you plug it in to cart, totally shuts off when done). 2- It COULD be switched to a 36v mode (mode 4).
