Frustrated and need help
Female Newbie who bought a Yamaha G2E 36volt for $100 as a winter project. Completely overhauled everything. Took it all the way down to the frame and installed all new parts. Installed new resistor and coil, upgraded motor to the Plum Quick Bandit and installed all new 4 gauge battery wires and new batteries. Took it out for a spin and almost had to push it up a hill. No speed or torque. Put it back in garage and motor was very hot. Before sending this out to a golf cart repair shop for large $$$. This might be an easy fix (or not) I have already put probably too much money into this, so I might as well keep going instead of getting a newer cart.
Can someone tell me if the 4 gauge wires are too much for the coil/resistor and motor? Do I need to upgrade motor again? or do I need to go to a controller to get the speed and torque and if so, what should I go with for this cart? |

Re: Frustrated and need help
the old resistor carts were not built for speed or torque
to get better performance you need the controller conversion kit sadly they are not available for yamaha that i know of http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...onversion.html that is a very sharp cart you could sell it and get something that you can upgrade fixed photo |
