The diode is backwards and (luckily) the small wire with the big ring goes on the big post with the battery main cable. Had the small wire with big ring been installed correctly real damage could have been done by the backwards diode.

Pay attention to the install diagram on page 20 of the owners manual

We copied the original layout to this one. We reversed the little wires and moved the run / tow to the top and it works perfectly. 25mph

Phew ! You kinda dodged a bullet there with that big ring wire,
Had that solenoid activated something would have burnt.

25 mph is good

Your original could not have been wired that way.

Is a solenoid directional? What I mean by that is the top of it was labeled A1 A2 (not to be confused with the motor). We hooked everything up right to left for ease of install... Meaning positive feed from pack & Run/tow on the right side and left went to controller...

I ask because my install on a club car will be opposite layout for ease of install.

The big brown topped MZJ400 is non- directional. Most solenoids used in golf carts are non directional unless marked otherwise.

The exception would be an SW180 with magnetic blow outs. This solenoid is clearly marked + on one large terminal.
