Default Aquiring 2014 Yamaha and need some info

I have purchased a new to me 48 volt Yamaha cart. It is represented as a 2014 model.

The lights are reportedly connected to one 12 volt battery. I want to connect a converter to 12 volt as I did on my old EZGO. How do I do it? and any recommendations?

where do I get a wiring diagram? What is the G8, G2 in the stickies?

How do I verify the year? How to read the serial number?

Please help a Yamaha newbie.

Serial number can be found by following the drain spouts into the under seat area/battery compartment. A "ex-fleet car" Drive electric (AKA G29) serial number will typically start with "JW2", followed by 6 numbers (like "JW2-000101"). There will never be any letters in the second part of the serial number. The first number after the JW2 prefix will help you determine year. here is an example how it works, JW2-0##### would be a 2007. JW2-1##### would be a 2008. JW2-2##### would be a 2009. JW2-3##### would be a 2010, and so on. There are 2 other possible prefixes used for Drive electrics (JC1 & JW9), and they dont start in 2007, but 2011 instead (JC1-0##### would be a 2011). Also worth noting, if the sticker on the body says "manufacture date - 2013", it would be considered a 2014 model year cart. but bodies are often changed, so its not a reliable id method. Find the serial number & try to decode . Or post it here for more help. On the lights & dc/dc convertor question, all Drive electric carts equipped with lights from the factory had a convertor from the factory (and nothing tapped into any individual batteries).

Thank you for the clarification.

how do I know which of the "sticky" wiring diagrams apply to a 2010 for example?

Wiring diagrams are near the end of the owners manual.

My serial number does have a letter in the second part? JW2-F4236-20
Anyone know what the "F" designation means?

That looks like a part number, not a serial#.

You probably won't find any of the 12Volt stuff like lights in the Yamaha wiring diagrams. At least mine don't have any. I am pretty sure my dealer installed my lights - and the reducer for them. It's easy to add a reducer to your cart. Lots of info here about how to do it.

The "F" designation means you found the part number to replace the sticker you are looking at. It's not a serial number. Serial number will always have a Barcode on the sticker on all Drives.

Oh! how would an idiot go about locating the real serial number?
