2008 Yamaha YDRE
I have a 2008 YDRE with a parking brake that wont lock in place. brakes work ok. Not sure how to adjust or repair. Please give any help is welcome.
Also I have a arm coming out the front of golf cart. Its mounted on a bearing with another arm going to right side only. I have not seen this on other golf carts. Can this removed . Thanks |

Re: 2008 Yamaha YDRE
There is a claw looking plate with teeth that grabs another plate to hold the parking brake in place. Under this is a nut and bolt the pushes the parking brake loose when the throttle is pressed. If you lower that bolt it lets the claw get closer to the plate and it grabs it easier. This should fix it. I don't know if it is the correct way but it has been helping with the brakes on our fleet.

Re: 2008 Yamaha YDRE
Its really rare for a Yamaha to not lock the hill brake. Although I have seen it, the majority of the time it is a simple adjustment as stated.
