Alltrax xct400 monitor reading help
Hi all. As some may know, i'm looking to get more speed out of my 2010 g29. My engine builder told me to max my alltrax xct 400 to 8k rpm, which i did. He said with my current setup i should easily hit 30 mph if i desire. Being curious what rpm im actually hitting after maximg at 26 mph, i monitored my cart last night and im thinking my 5 yr old trojans may be my issue. The below readings were taken while the cart was topped out on flat asphalt after 5 mins of driving. Throttle: 98% Speed Sensor: 6124 Controller temp: 34 Batt Voltage: 44.2 Batt Current: 91.7 Motor Voltage: 44.2 Motor Current: 89.1 Field Current: 4.9. During this pass I was at 25 mph. Being that my motor can handle higher rpm, is it the battery pack or the xct 400? High speed banded motor, 4g cables, stock tires. Thanks as always!!!

Re: Alltrax xct400 monitor reading help
The data shows your motor is receiving max voltage so you are not going to go much faster. You may gain a little with new batteries though since they are sagging quite a bit. (Battery voltage is only 44.2) Having a motor rated to 8K RPM doesn't mean it will get going that fast with all of the other limiting factors.

Batteries are your limiting factor. Controller is maxed out.

Re: Alltrax xct400 monitor reading help
So my motor can handle more rpm than it is now, i guess that is good. The controller is maxed but motor isn't hitting max rpm, and my batteries are hindering my ride a bit, but not much. I don't understand how I've hit a road block as far as performance goes. I was hoping new batteries would give me the power I need. I'm not always flying around but it's nice to have the power if needed, so i was hoping to get 28-30ish like the motor builder said I would. A speedier motor might fix? Thanks for the input Volt.

Replace your batteries. 5 years old and they are limiting your speed more than anything else. The amount of power you can generate is limiting your max speed.

Your motor is consuming about 4 KW (Amps times volts) which is only about 5 HP. Your batteries are sagging about 6V from their at rest voltage.

If You have already done a throttle calibration, You may need to adjust your "speed" curve so at 97% physical throttle position the throttle maps to 100%. You just need to make sure the line graph hits the 100% vertical mark at the 97% horizontal mark. Also, make sure the "turbo" is enabled. |

Re: Alltrax xct400 monitor reading help
If I was in your position (of wanting every ounce out of this motor) I would contact the builder about getting a field map which lowers the field current more than 4.9 Amps - be sure to explain that you have had this banding done and you want more RPM.

Re: Alltrax xct400 monitor reading help
Lowering the field current will make the motor draw more amps. Will that make it go faster? Maybe but it depends on what the batteries can put out. I still say that you will need new batteries before you will go any faster.
