Rear end noise-penny trick explanation

I am a new owner to a 2008 Drive and it is in amazing shape. I have an issue though with rear end noise. I have already checked the transaxle and I have a yellow tag. I also tightened the loose axle nuts. That helped get rid of a small noise but not the loud grumble that happens when I let off of the gas. I am assuming it is the motor armature bushing I have read about. I am completely new to the electric cart world so I have no idea how they work yet. So could someone help me out and give me an explanation on how/when/ where the armature bushing is, the process to pull the motor and how in the world the penny goes in by the bushing. Pics would be amazing if there are any laying around.

Forget the dumb penny trick, it's a bogus fix anyway. The real part you need is Yamaha part "JH7-H1829-00-00". It's gonna cost you more than a penny tho, 147 pennies more to be exact.

How difficult is the fix?

Pretty easy. You will need to disconnect the batteries, remove the motor (unhook 4 wires & a plug, 3 or 4 10mm bolts), clean up some rust, slather the input shaft with anti seize or good grease. When removing motor cables, be sure terminal stud doesn't twist, or $$$ motor repairs .

Hi,

I just bought YDREX4 and it has a oil leakage which I think is from the Oring behind the transaxle flange.

where is the terminal stud that i need to be sure not twist it.

I will appriciate if someone share a picture.

Use a wrench on the bottom nut ( the one on the motor). And use another one to remove the nut holding the cable on. DO NOT let the stud in the motor turn or you will have to take the motor to a shop to have it fixed
