2007 Drive with White Tag Axle

My 07 has the white tag and the rear end is making a higher than normal pitch sound at full speed. After reading several of the threads on this, I'm sure my axle is close to failing. Is/was there a recall by Yamaha on this? Is it still active?

I loathe the dealer in my area and would rather take it to another if the recall is still ongoing.

I don't think that they ever did a recall on that, just had the rearend changed out while under warranty if it failed. After 07 they fixed the cheap gears that were causing the issue. As you are well out of warranty you may be stuck with trying to find a replacement transaxle.

Not gonna get a free one. No recall, just a service bulletin, like "be on lookout for" type of thing. They sell for about $998

I have an 09 that seems to be making that same noise. Were the issues fixed by 09?

Look for the white tag to find out. I don't remember how quickly that went away, too long ago.
