Plowman's 300 Amp upgrade
Hello All. I called Plowman the other day asking about the 300 amp upgrade he has on his site. He strong enocourages not going that route as the Hitachi motor is junk. He said the roit kit is best option. I live in a neighborhood that has like 1 small hill and mostly flat ground. Not looking for break neck torque, just a lot more speed. My cart is a 2013 with 12" low profile tires.
Anyone else just have the 300 amp controller for a while ama still runs?? |

Re: Plowman's 300 Amp upgrade
I think in your case, an Alltrax controller upgrade is all you need depending on your current setup. A XCT48300 might be the ticket and keep your stock motor.
Or go with a higher amp controller for the possible future purchase of a high speed motor, because you will eventually want a high speed motor...it happens to all of us. |

Re: Plowman's 300 Amp upgrade
I have the XCT 300 amp controller, but I have the Plumquick Bandit upgrade on my Hitachi motor. I bought the first 300 amp XCT from Don. It's a great controller and love the programmable features. 21-23MPH

Re: Plowman's 300 Amp upgrade
I have the Alltrax 300Amp controller my stock motor lasted 18 months. It was quite toasty when I removed it. This was with what I would call limited use. Mostly weekends on fairly level ground. I currently have a motor from EMP that I am fairly happy with.

Re: Plowman's 300 Amp upgrade
I have a 2012 Drive with the XCT300 and have been quite happy. Added a little zip to the cart and it has been flawless. Now that being said it is mainly driven by my sister and mother so it is not pushed very hard but it does have enough torque to spin the tires from a dead stop on gravel

If you are smart you will heed Don's advice. There is nobody better than him for Yamaha electrics.

Ditto on Don. He'll do right by you and has good equipment.
