Default 2013 ydre drive time problems

I have a 2013 Yamaha ydre. It had 2013 6 8v Trojans all seemed to pass a voltage drop test. Cart would only run for 15 minutes 20 max. Up a decent hill it would go from 16 mph to about 5 mph. I decided to replace batteries.4 new Trojan 12v cart is now going 12 mph up hill. Only getting about a 25 minute run time and battery meter says almost full charge. No power to rear buzzer once I plug charger in and it finally reads full charge once again everything works but for only 25 minutes. Please let me know what could be happening

hmm that is strange typically power/performance issues like that are almost exclusively a battery problem...but you have new batteries

also don't rely on a digital meter on the dash board that tells you how much power if left, use a multi meter and load tester to check your batteries

It is also possible your charger is not working right. what voltage does it put out when it's charging? use your meter and let us know

I will test in the am. What should the voltage be when charging?

old pack voltage was 49.6 with what the charger was calling a full charge. Each battery individually was 8.2 or so. I then changed the pack to 4 new 12v told customer to charge all the way I never did measure new pack voltage just assumed all is well (my mistake). After two days they called me stating they only got 25 minutes of run time. I am picking up cart from customer to keep for myself and diagnose before I was doing mobile so cart stayed with them for testing.

Stick with the 6x8v system instead of the 4 12v it gives better performance . When the charger is working good it should be putting out over 50 volts when you plug it in. 49 volts is a little low but the. Again they were almost 5 years old

Also even though it only lasted 25 minutes, did the car drive normally otherwise? As in no decrease in speed for a while?

Keep in mind too they may have not plugged in the charger properly and it never charged when they thought it was. Customers do a lot things like that

Downgrade to 4x 12v. I would never sell that to a customer without big protest (wouldn't even present that option). But still, that has to be a big problem, like motor problem, batteries never charged, brakes dragging bad, something like that. Or perhaps a big parasitic draw like a DC convertor that is bad, making it seem like a battery issue.

Wow a voltage reducer can fail in a way that seriously sucks up the battery power? I didn't know that, I thought basically either they work or they don't kind of like controllers lol
