Default Confirm solenoid is bad and not controller

Hey everyone. I need some you techies to weigh in on my issue.

2008 YDRE 48V - All Stock

I just replaced batteries with 4 new Trojan 1275s.

After battery install cart worked fine for a few 5 minute drives. Now cart will not move in either direction. If I reset cart with tow switch, solenoid clicks once and then a second time after about 3 seconds.

If I put F/R switch in reverse and reset the cart (tow switch), the reverse buzzer sounds.

I checked the solenoid across large posts. My tests were done by putting one lead on battery negative and other lead on solenoid post one at at time monitoring voltage. I also had rear wheels off the ground.

On one post, I got a reading of 52V. On other post, voltage was 0 until acceleration pedal was pressed. It started at 52V, then immediately went erratic showing voltages all over the place. The voltage finally settled on 24V, and the wheels never moved.

Im guessing the problem is not the controller since the buzzer sounds and the cart worked. The erratic voltage has me thinking the solenoid is making poor contact inside itself and the clicks mean its mechanically moving, just making a bad connection.

Lastly, could battery cables duplicate this issue?

Any advice from the gurus would be appreciated.

Check the cable connections between the solenoid and battery pack. If they are clean and tight you could be right about the solenoid contactor being bad.

I need to correct my explanation of test. One post on solenoid was 52V. The other post had erractic voltage until the acceleration pedal was pressed. When the pedal was pressed, the voltage on that post went to 0.

In my original explanation of test, I flipped my info.
