G16E First (or last) battery goes down on charger?

Hello All,

First post after initial introduction,
I just pulled the sleeping dinosaur out of the garage to look it over.
all battery's appeared to be new but were low on H2O.
I toped them all of then attempted to charge them up.
The cart charger (36v) didn't even see a current and would turn on.
I went to charge them 2 at a time and was successful until the last two I tried.
The battery on the negative cable wouldn't take a charge even after an hour of charging.
So I only put the charger on one battery. Confirmed its the first battery connected to the negative wire. It appears that it was taking a small charge (or pulling from the second one as I didn't disconnect the cable between them). I say this because when I initially hooked the charger (this is a 12v car charger now by the way) it displayed 6.7% but I could watch it fall .1% every second until it got down to 1%.

Does this sound like a bad battery or do you think I have a drain on the system due to it only being the first battery affected?

You can't really charge 6v batteries well in pairs if one is questionable
