G16E controller overheating
I have a 1999 G16 36V that has been shutting down while riding and when it does the controller is almost too hot to touch. After it sits for a min or so it work agaiin. It does it more frequently at low speed. Also, the reverse buzzer sounds even with the key switched off (not sure if this in normal).
I have a new battery pack, replaced the solenoid, cleaned f/r switch and replaced battery cables with 2ga. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Re: G16E controller overheating
Time to replace the OEM controller.
The thermal shutdown is a self preservation feature usually brought on by too high of an amperage draw for too long. This is often the case with bigger tires or prolonged slow speed operation. Unfortunately the more it happens the quicker the controller is to cut off. |
