lights on all time
I just change batteries on a 2009 yrea yamaha. cart runs fine, but I can't make the Factory lights go off. On the last battery, I have placed neg cable, charger cable, and one smaller wire coming from wiring harness.
If I take fuse out of small wire, lights go off, if I turn off run /tow switch, lights go off. I took all wires off headlight switch and lights stay on. Don't know anything about the wiring on Yamaha, but it has to be getting a neg.from some where. (I think). This one has 6 8volts batteries in a straight row. Thanks for any and all help. |

Re: lights on all time
6x 8v in a row is a G22 thing (2003-2007). Post a pic of the batteries?

Just below the box where you type messages, hit the "go advanced" button. The new box will have a paperclip above it near the middle, the paperclip is where you select and manage any pics you want to attach. After selecting your images, click "upload". After the upload completes, click "close window". Boom, done.

Re: lights on all time
Wow, if that's a factory battery tray, I've never seen it before. All the Drives I have seen with 8v batts just used the same tray made for 8x 6v batteries (with 2 battery spots empty). The serial number is on that white sticker on the passenger side, visible in the photo. Care to give me the serial number? (Private Message me if you don't want to post it public). I can't tell if it has a factory DC converter, it would be just below the motor controller. Do you think the lights are factory installed? Many aftermarket lights are clones of oem light kit (in appearance only, not quality).

Re: lights on all time
The funny part is, I was welding up 8x 6v battery trays for Drives long before I ever saw it offered from Yamaha. When that became available, that's all we ordered. Now they want to act like 8x 6v is no longer an option, but they "accidentally" sent me one..

Re: lights on all time
well the serial number is J C 1-000816.
I looked it up and they say 2010. Did they make a lot of changes on the electrical system to this model? |

Re: lights on all time
I ran the SN in the dealer system, it's a 2010. Unfortunately I don't have much at home for OEM light system wiring diagrams. Does the system have the "ultra premium" light kit with the twist knob for the headlights on the turn signal switch? Has anything been done with the keyswitch? Any modifications at all, or just a battery change?
