Default What did you do for your Yamaha today ?

I hope this is not a duplicate thread. I searched and found nothing?

I replaced the old Trojan batteries with 8v DEKA gel cells. These are a no maintenance battery. The terminals still need to be kept clean but there is no need to add water.
Once the old batteries were lifted out I hosed down the battery tub and dried everything off with the leaf blower. Then I sprayed corrosion neutralized on the hold down bolts and in cart nuts.
Plans include a new 2g cable set, a Lester Summit II charger, and later the Admiral D2 motor to complement the XCT controller already installed here > Scottyb bought a Yamaha

She is a 2012 year model.

Since nobody has told me differently - I assume we are safe to continue to post our "What have you done for your Yamaha" stuff here.

I was hoping to get my cart back to life but 1 battery is bad right out of the gate. Even with the cart on jacks this bad battery drops 4 volts when the gas is depressed

But my battery guy will bring a new one tomorrow.

I installed a digital battery meter and relocated the F&R switch.
2 things bug me about a cart; 1 is not know what the pack voltage is. 2. is having to pull myself out of the seat to switch the F&R.
One screw released the cupholder (holds drinks for 6 people)
The F&R switch unplugged & popped right out. I looked at the hole it left and grabbed a digital battery meter. It fit right in
I did some investigating... removed the floor mat and panel. found the F&R wires under the floor but Yamaha likes to zip tie wires together before putting them in a shield so it was impossible to pull them all the way out... More investigating Okay -
The Yamaha F&R switch fit a CC F&R housing so I mounted it on the kick panel just below the front edge of the seat cushion. I can easily reach this location.
I cut the F&R direction wires (yellow and white) in the pedal area and was able to pull those back to the motor/controller area. Cut the F&R harness plug off in the dash. Having mounted the F&R housing I connected the switch using a new hot lead from the R/T switch and the 2 signal wires. Wha-lla it worked.
Now it is more civilized.

Looks good! I have the same issues. What meter did you use? Got a part # for the switch housing you used?

I just finished installing a new motor from Chuck at EMP and an Alltrax 500amp controller from Scotty on my G19.

I was amazed at the quality of service and detail Chuck went to. He spent considerable time making sure he knew exactly what I wanted and answered each and every question in detail, truly top notch service and communication.

EDIT:

I should also mention, I asked Chuck for a simple custom mod, an RTD temp probe vs the normal high temp switch they offer, which they happily provided.

I used the meters and F&R switches we sell at cartsunlimited.net.

Installed a light kit into our new 2018 Drive2 AC. It is so much fun cutting big *** holes in clean new plastic.
