Default New FSIP motor - have a problem

Today, Me and a buddy finally got around to installing the FSIP #122-48VTORQUEY motor that he ordered from ScottyB a few months ago. 2014 G29 cart with stock controller. We had to splice the speed sensor into the old plug so that it would plug into the cart. When we ran it, reverse/forward is backwards according to the F/R switch. It's slow when moving forward(which is reverse on the switch) and is really fast in reverse(Forward on the switch). What did I do wrong? Thanks for the help!

You switched the F1 and F2 leads going to the motor (thick wires). I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I didn’t switch the leads on the motor. They were all labeled and I put them on accordingly. Do you think I can switch them? I was thinking about that but Wasn’t sure if it would hurt anything

Yes it will be fine. It will just cause it to run opposite of what it does now, which is the opposite of normal. Lol

Is the speed sensor working?

The wire colors matched on the plug don't look right, Ie: red to black.

How do I know if it’s working properly? Do you know the right color configuration? I really was just guessing on the colors honestly

I would match the two matching wires and then the third one is the third one. If you leave it fully unplugged you just won't have regen braking I.e. slowing on downhill grades when off both the gas and brake

The speed sensor connection should be red to red, blk to blk, 2 odd colors together.
