Default Time to replace my motor

I’m in need of a motor. I use my cart in high torque applications off road, always. My issue is that I don’t have more than about 8.75 inches from the mounting flange to the coil over before I’m out of room. I have considered moving the shock mount but would like to know what is out there that is compatible with stock suspension that will fit my torque needs. I have a 10 spline input. Currently sticking with the 36v until they need replaced and will go with 48v.

I put a high speed (not torque but it was a huge motor) D&D motor in a G8E I redid. It was a tight fit/ I had to remove the body and the shocks and lower the rear end. But it did fit! I also have a large motor in my G3E I installed the same way.

A club car ten spline motor will work as well.

Mine has (had) a club car 10 spline special service motor. It only ran about 45 mins on 500 amps and melted. It was old, anyhow. I see a D&D 70% torque increase motor that is 10.5 inches long, I just don’t think it will fit without moving the lower shock mount. Even then it might not fit.

Higher torque motors are longer. Most are in the 10.5 " range. Moding the shock mount is mandatory to fit the motor that will give you the results you want. The Admiral A1 is a good choice, too. My customer sent me these pictures after we sent him the FSIP high torque motor.

I’ll need something that will operate on 36v for now and 48v later. Will all series motors do that? I see some specifically listed for both and others for one or the other.

There should be motors specifically for that, although series motors don't care about voltage as much as Sepex systems do.

AMD Beast 7114 fits without moving the shock mount.

Nice. Did you drop the rear end?

I removed the passenger side shock, jacked up the frame, inserted the motor through the wheel well then moved around to the rear and lifted the motor up to align the splines.
