How the Heck do I get the rear arm bushings out??
I have a Yamaha G9 that I am rebuilding. I had to cut the rear arm bolts off because the bolts snapped trying to remove them. The brackets that the rear arm hooks up to were worn on one side.
The problem I have is that I cannot remove the old bushings. I have tried a few things including drilling the rubber around the bolts to loosen them up and still cannot remove them. Does anyone have any tips? The only thing I can think of is taking the rear arm somewhere that has a press and pushing them out that way. This is the only thing holding me up from completing the build. HELP!! |

Well if all else fails.....use a torch! I supported the rear arm and put a propane torch on the rubber bushings from underneath and melted them out.
