Default 1998 G16ES Solenoid

How do you rule out the solenoid as being bad or good? Ive got +37 volts to three terms but no movement.

You can "bench test" it. Your solenoid has 2 large posts (these alow current to flow thru) and 2 small posts (these "energize" the solenoid. With a volt meter set on continuity attatch the leads to the 2 large posts. Now attatch wires to the 2 small posts and touch the wire leads to 36 volts (1-positve and 1-negative---doesn't matter to the solenoid witch post) the solenoid should "click" and you should have continuity thru the large posts. If not...bad solenoid...If tests good...another problem with your cart. Good Luck Dave

Smile Re: 1998 G16ES Solenoid

Dave and Roady, The 98 Yamaha G16 is running again. The solenoid checked out and a lot of other testing and removing and cleaning and replacing and it just started running. I did not replace anything, but i removed all the controller, and electrics and tested and replaced them as they all checked on the ohm and volt test. I have no idea what it needed but it is clean and tight now and we will see. Appreciate the help, keep of the good work. Larry
