leaking battery
I just bought a 2003 Yamaha G22EY cart. Ive noticed half of my batteries are leaking around the battery posts. The batteries have the correct amount of acid in them and they are level in the tray. Is it time for a new set or is there a way to remedy the situation?

Re: leaking battery
Half of your batteries are leaking.....Hmmm. What are the odds of three 8-volt batteries all leaking around the posts? A bad production run perhaps or a victim of a mechanic that twisted on them too hard. Is it possible you are noticing battery electrolyte that sometimes gets all over the batteries from charging. It may corrode the posts and look like it's leaking from them. Time to rinse the batteries off. Your batteries may be overfull too. About 1/4th inch over the plates is enough water. Remove all the wires and clean the wires or replace them and clean the batteries to shiny metal. Rinse the batteries more often or when you see the tops looking wet. Golf cart batteries require regular maintenance.

Re: leaking battery
Thanks for the help. It looks like I was wrong on the level in the batteries. I'm going to remove some liquid in the batteries and see what happens.
