Bad Contoller?
I have a '95 Yamaha G14 that will not move. It has new batteries that check out ok. All diodes, relays and switches and connetions appear to be ok. I have removed the motor checked the brushes and had it bench tested it is working properly. The F/R switch was taken apart and looks brand new inside. The only thing that hasn't been checked is the controller. The most puzzling symptom I have found is that all four motor posts(A1,A2,S1,S2) show 36 volts at the same time. I am assuming that the motor is confused as to which way I want it to go. Is the controller the problem? I have been helped greatly by reading as many postings and answers as I could find. This is great site with great members, thank you all.

which type of controller? I didn't see the solenoid mentioned anywhere, have you also verified that it is in working order? When you turn the KSI (key switch) on and press the pedal do you hear the solenoid click? The solenoid is essentially just a big switch, the click you would normally hear if it were in working order is the switch closing and completing the circuit. I/E no click, no movement. This is the easiest way to verify your issue isn't the solenoid... first disconnect negative cable from battery pack.. next disconnect all wires from solenoid terminals. Then Using a multi meter check the two large terminals for continuity. There should be NO CONTINUITY BETWEEN TWO LARGE TERMINALS. If there is, replace solenoid. Next Apply correct voltage to solenoid at the small terminals. (Meaning a 6v solenoid needs 6v applied a 36 volt solenoid needs 36v applied) it doesn't matter which small terminal you choose to apply pos/neg as it only affects polarity. once voltage is applied you should hear the solenoid click. If you do hear it click run same continuity check as before between the two large terminals, this time you should have continuity between them, if you do not- the solenoid is defective and needs replaced. If there is continuity then the solenoid is functioning correctly and we will have to look elsewhere..

Also check that the solenoid/ motor / controller / F n R switch are wired correctly.. large wire from positive end of battery pack to large terminal on solenoid... large wire from other large terminal on the solenoid to B+ On controller... should have two large wires, one from the solenoid, and another from S on the F n R switch. It should also be F1(FnR) to S1(Motor) then F2 (FnR) to S2(motor) then R(FnR) to A1 (motor) then M- (controller) to A2 (motor) and lastly B-(controller) to Battery pack negative .

Indeed I did see the date. however I know that when I had an issue and tried figuring out what to do via' the forum, threads that were incomplete or without conclusion were so aggravating!! www.alltraxinc.com
