G1 battery cables
I just acquired a G1 from my work. This thing has been sitting in the plant for 10 years or so and the batteries were corroded real bad. I went to Sam's yesterday and bought some new Energizer GC2; fiance wouldnt let me get the trojans. Now I need all new battery cables since the old ones are pretty much shot. Where can I get these cables? Is it 4 ga or 6 ga? Is there any local places to get them, I tend to want immediate gratification; like most americans these days? Autozone had 6 ga lawn and garden cables but I wasnt sure about them. Thanks in advance for you help.

Looks like it's time for a new fiance!!! LOL just kidding!! You can make your own cables if you'd forget about the instant grad stuff, use 4 ga, only!!

Re: G1 battery cables
I made a mistake, I thought the cables I got were 2ga but they were 4ga.

Re: G1 battery cables
There is more to this cable thing than first meets the eye.... just like the fiance problem but, I will get to that later THe automotive cables will likely not do. 36 or 48 volts of DC at 400amps needs a cable with a very high strand count, like 250 strands. That is why we use welders cable when we make our own or buy made for golf cart cables ... If you do not have enough strands you will create resistance and resistance creates heat and heat melts battery posts! So you still in a hurry? And what about that cheap fiance? ( Sorry)
