Best 12 Volts
I am installing some lights and just wanted to know the best route to finding 12volts with out buying a voltage reducer or adding a new battery. I am not to worried about it running the batteries down i dont go very far and then it goes back on the charger. Just need to know what neg. and pos. post to look for. Its a 48 volt G19.
thanks |

Re: Best 12 Volts
You really can't get 12v off of a 48v pack. Its either 8v or 16v since the batts work in series. You need a reducer.

Re: Best 12 Volts
Well most 48 volt factory carts have 12 volt batteries. That being the case choose one and run, it doesn't matter. With that said whichever battery you choose will be the one that fails soon with repeated use

Re: Best 12 Volts
Im sorry!!! If you have a 48v cart that has 4 12v batts then it shouldnt matter what batt you pick!! I misunderstood your first post! I thought you had 6 8v batts.

Re: Best 12 Volts
It does have 8 volt batteries so what i have found was either 16 volts or 8 volts they will probably run dim on 8 but i guess i will try the 16 and see if the inline fuse blows or has any one tried running lights this way?

Re: Best 12 Volts
Your lights won't last long on 16v. In the long run you will save money by going to a reducer. A lot of bulbs @ 16v will add up!!

Re: Best 12 Volts
It has been done... it helps if you have tail lights and marker lights too. Use double filament stop lights the more lights the better!.... they will be bright and I dunno how long they will last but I have seen carts that have run this way for a some time? I don't know how much actual use the lights got though???? Sounds like you're gonna take a shot at it from what I read..... so you tell us how it works out

Re: Best 12 Volts
He said 'he's not buying a reducer' so it's gonna be 8v or 16v so he is gonna do what he's gonna do. As I said I have seen 16v working 12v lights before..... Maybe don't give this guy your phone #
