Only an older one. I think the G8 is the last one they used the Kawasaki differential in. You may have to modify the odd mount also.

Up until the G9 (I think it's the G9, it may have been used longer though), Yamaha used a 10-spline male input shaft like Club Car. They actually used a Kawasaki differential. The only difference in the motors is that Yamaha used metric bolts to hold it on and Club Car used standard.
For example, the motor pictured below is for a Club Car DS with Powerdrive (96'-05') and Yamaha G9, G8, and G2. ![]() |

I stand corrected...looks like someone needs to correct their catalog as they have it listed as all yamahas have 19 spline. 10 spline up to 93 1/2...19 spline 93 1/2 up.

Yamaha G1- G9 and Club Car Series 84 to present all use 10 spline.
Yamaha G14-G16 use 19 spline like Ezgo Series 92 till present. Yamaha G19- G22 are SEPEX. Same motor put with a difierent plug on the end. Sepex motors all have different field coils which are programmed into the controller . Mismatching can cause over heating and take out the motor cna controller. On Series motor if the splines match you can use them. There is no 36 or 48 volt only motor. You could take a motor thats labled 48 v and put in 36 volt system and it would work, just be slower. If you take a motor labled at 36 and put it in 48v system you would get more hp and speed than whats on label. GE electrics motors wok 24 - 96 volts, the only limit is the armature will only handle 10,000 rpm's. Other motors limits are around 5000 rpm's |
