Default G1 Motor upgrade

I have stripped my G1 and starting to paint it I am wondering if there are some motor upgrade available for this cart. At my work we have several older motors from forklifts and other random vehicles that we pulled before we scrapped the bodies. Would any of these be worth looking into. What are my options with this cart to make it FAST. I have a guy who will give me a snow mobile motors that runs but hear that is a pain and costly. Let me know what my options are, thanks and have to say this forum is awesome.

Take your old motor out and send it to Plum Quick. They will do a number on your old one and it'll cost 'ya about $225. Go to <plumquick.com> and get the phone numbers. Good luck!!

When you want an electric to go fast, you lose torque. You need to decide on one or another, or a motor in between. To put a gas motor into an electric, you would need a differant differential. Anything is possible (like the motors you were talking about, but you better be able to fabricate. Good luck Dave

You dont need a different different rear end, I took the electric motor off and found a 3 inch pulley that fit on the 3/4 inch shaft and then I stretched the swing arm 18 inches with 2 inch exhaust pipe tubing and attached it to the next crossmember up in the center of the cart to have more room for the engine,I only have a 9 hp. Honda,I had to experiment with different size pulleys to get the torque and speed combination, I have seen 4 cyl motorcycle engines in these G1s that have a 8 inch sproket in place of the transaxel but use the stock axel tubes.
