Default g22 main harness fuse (near controller)

Hello,

I am hoping one of you may have some insight for a problem I was troubleshooting yesterday. My friends father has a nice 2005 g22 cart modified for off road use. He was complaining it had no power. It ran but had no torque. I had my buddy bring the cart to my house a while back and found the place that sold him the cart did not upgrade the controller. We added a 500a alltrax, full set of 4ga wires and a heavy duty solenoid. Everything seemed fine. Took it back to the farm. Last week his father declared it was "dead." I went to take a look yesterday and found a weatherproof fuse holder in the factory harness near the solenoid/controller. It contaned a 3a auto style fuse that was blown. Replaced the fuse and everything worked fine.

My basic question is- does this fuse need to be changed to a higher amp fuse since the controller upgrade? The alltrax directions are somewhat generic and made no mention. The controller is set to 85%.

Thanks for the help. I don't know much about the yamahas and my friends father could tear up an anvil with a rubber mallet.

thanks in advance

got through to alltrax and found the fuse needs to be upgraded and the ignition wire requires some modification as well. Will leave thread intact in hopes it may help someone else.

What amp fuse are you supposed to upgrade to? That may help others also. Thanks for the heads up.

on the phone I was told 5a. The info I printed from the website says 10a.

I will make the wiring changes and upgrade the fuse this week.

I was not aware the g19 and g22 used the same diagram. The documents online list g19 only. Might be common knowledge they are the same but I had no idea.
