Default Can anyone identify this Yamaha?

My friend just picked up this Yamaha for $75 as a toy to tinker with (he's talking about making it a 72V cart).

Anyone have any ideas on what year/model it might be?

Ess is right, it's a G1. From the picture of the front cowel, I'd say 1980/1981. The serial# can be located on the main frame tube (inbetween the upper shock mounts or on the rear main frame where the rear bumper attatches). But if your going 72 volts...you'll need to gut the wire harness ect and get a controller/pot box/solenoids and or solenoids to run it, plus find the place for the batteries. Keep us posted and we love build pic's.
