Default 90-91 yamaha resistor coil

I have a 90-91 yamaha G1 or G2. i just got it. the resistor coil is broke. it is broke at the loop where the bolt goes through. can i rebend a new loop or does it need a new coil all together.thanks steven

I would try the the rebend you mentioned or even an eye end connector (if you can fasten it very well). Guess it depends witch loop broke.

It broke at the very end. Where could you find the board that the resistor attaches to.

If you plan on driving it real slow you can expect this to happen again and again. I changed mine over to solid state(I'm still working on it!) so I can cruise at the beach at about 3-5 mph for extended periods of time. If you can afford it, this is the way to go.

First, rip out all the resistor coil stuff. You will need a controller, a solenoid, a pot box, and a new set of #4 gauge wires. The brkt. on the Yamaha is a good mounting platform for all this stuff. I'm using a Curtis controller, 1204, the stock solenoid(I'm staying at 36 volts.) and a PB-6 potbox. I've looked at so many schematics that I can't read small print anymore but it is going to be worth it in the end.
