Default transmission from a garden tractor into an old G1

I am trying to install a pearless 6 speed transmission into an 81 former electric G1 Yamaha, I will be using it around my property occsionaly towing a little trailer with twiggs im disabled and my powerchair gets stuck easisily and its quite hilly too i could modify the original transmission and stick the shaft out the other side, oppisit the electric motor, theres a rubber plug over the hole and I would put a commet torque converter on the shaft, that was my original plan, but I rebuild old riding lawnmowers and I have several transmissions and horizontal 12 hp. Briggs and Stratton engines and even a 14 hp Koeler with a pressureized oilng system, I can fabricate a jackshaft to come up beside the engine to go back to the trans pulley,im going to use a belt centrifical cluch on the engine, ive already welded in a piece of metal for the engine, the distance between the wheels is pretty close but I really wanted to retain the brake drums and 4 lug wheels, I dont need it to go very fast and going up hills is more important for me on this one, im going to rig up a shifter too and with the tractor trans I will have reverse too! anybody ever done one with a garden tractor transmission?
