Default G16 lift kit- Jakes 6 inch

I ordered a Jakes 6 inch lift kit for my 2nd G16 project. Does anyone have any helpful hints for getting the kingpins out. The directions aren't very good or clear on the removal and installation. Also I noticed the bolts that hook the steering arm to the spindle don't have a cotter key keeper like the old ones. Is this safe without the cotter keys? I don't want it to fall apart while I'm driving. Thanks for the help....pics to follow.

I just put one on a g19e. The 16 has the same kingpins.Got them out with two Phillips screwdrivers. One was really small, the other was a little larger. You have to have small ones. Punch out the small kingpin first then the bigger one. The small one makes the big one swell. It was tough to get the small one started, but once it starts it was easy to get out. They make special tools to get them out. But that's what I used and it worked.

Thanks Diags,
I wound up using a nail set and a phillips screwdriver- and a big hammer! Both of the pins came out at the same time and I had to use an anvil and large hammer to finish the job. I appreciate your help.

Use "lock tight" on the tie rod arm bolts where the nuts thread on, but a light coat of "never seize" on the shank of the bolts where they go through the aluminum spacer, and never seize on the king pins and roll pins.

Put grease where the king pins contact the new bushing in the new A-arms and never seize the king pins where they go through the spindle hole.

Also never seize the bolt shank where the bolts go through the rubber bushings in the other end of the A-arms. All this makes sure you can take it apart next time.
