Whats the purpose of the stop switch on the accelerator pedal ?

It tells the controller to give battery voltage to the motor and the potentiameter tells the controller how much voltage to give the motor.

I'll bet it activates the solenoid & powers up the controller?

Well the cart wont move. The solenoid powers up when you depress the accelerator pedal. But when I push this switch back in by hand the solenoid stays engaged until the potentiameter returns to the stop position. So I figured this switch had another task other than the solenoid. Just trying to narrow down the problem ;)
