I have a '98 G19 that had a little mishap and ended up on it's roof with wheels in the air. Some of the acid leaked out of the batteries and before I filed them with water I have a questin to ask.
How many times can you refill the batteries before you have to replace the acid? One of the batteries are down to the top of the plates. Thank you in advance for your help. |

That depends on the health of the batteries before you start driving up side down. Add distilled water only.

Never replace the acid, only add distilled water. There is a chemical balance that has to be maintained....although I have dumped out a battery and replaced the electrolyte. (into an aproved container of coarse) but only because it was a new and the guy put straight distilled water in the battery and no acid at all. The battery worked fine after that.
Just fill them with distilled water about 1/4 inch above the plates BEFORE CHARGING...after charging if you still need more distilled water you can fill to just below the top. |

Just bought a used cart, and noticed a lot of acid on the tops of the batteries. Checked fluid levels and they were almost to the top of the 'fill hole'. Used a baster and pulled a LOT of extra fluid out. Made sure fluid was about 1/8th above the plates.
We have a steep hill in our CG, and have noticed that I'm still getting some spilling. Is this normal for a steep incline? I thought other than the pressure vent on the tops, the caps sealed the cels ? Rhino |

Anyone ?
Just noticed this pic http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...e-img_0275.jpg that the cel caps are discrete. My T105s have the standard 'bar vent cap'. Could there be an issue with my battery caps (which is causing my leaking) ? Rhino. |

All caps are vented. Not pressure vented, just vented. If you are getting water on top of your batteries, and you are only filling them just above the lead plates, then your incline is very steep. Theres nothing else you can do except go around the steep hill. <grin> Keep in mind, batteries and caps are built for Normal Commercial use. Hope this answers your question. |

Check to make sure the seals are in good shape on the "gang caps". There should be a rubber seal on each one One for each cell. Sometimes they will get skewed and not seal properly.
I have the same caps and every so often I'll clean them up and then lube them with Vaseline and haven't had a leaking issue. |
