Hi I'm new to the golf cart thing, I just picked up a 1998 yamaha cart and it was working fine until I fixed it.
I installed lights and cleaned all the battery terminels and when I put it back together I crossed the last terminal on the last battery. I guess I burned somthing out. I pulled the motor and cleaned the armiture and brushes still wont go top speed, I even tried my buddys motor and still the same. SO THEN I thought I could try the motor directly off the batterys by using a set of jumper cables now I have to push it to the shed it wont move at all. I can here the selonoid clicking but there is no power going back to the motor wires,I checked the in line 10 amp fuse and thats ok i dont have a clue what else to do (Please help I need it for camping next weak) THANKS |

Well I tryed it again. and I am makeing progress, I was able to get the motor to spin by connecting the s1 and s2 with a jumper and then connecting the
a1 and a2 with a set of battery cables going directly to the + and - off 36 volts of the battery. But it still will not power up if I re connect it and try the gas peddle I can here the selonid pick up but thats all that happens. any help would be greatly apprecieated. Thanks.... Rich |

Welcome to BGW
PLEASE DO NOT HOOK THE MOTOR UP THAT WAY!!! You will burn it up. Use this to test your motor. http://www.empinc.biz/tech_support.p...troller_series What make, model cart do you have. I will try and find you a wiring diagram. |

Did anything spark beside the last connection? You may be fine...you just have battery cables wired wrong.
