G8 has intermitant problem, when applying throttle sometimes it goes and sometimes it doesn't. The solenoid is clicking. I think it may be a bad connection or a bad solenoid. Anybody got any other ideas. Thanks.
Nevermind, I figured it out. The solenoid contacts were dirty. This required grinding off the 4 rivets holding it together and cleaning the contacts. Also, you have to desolder the small coil wire inside the solenoid before taking out the 4 screws. Then you can get to the contacts to clean them. Don't drop the spring inside. |
