Sun Classic Golf Cart
Greetings all. I'm considering purchasing a 1986 Yamaha Sun Classic Golf Cart for my grand daughter (15) to drive around my property. What is your opinion on this cart? Are parts readily available and or manuals, etc? Thanks

Parts for the drive system should still be readily available and standard suspension parts, anything body related or cosmetic and you will be toast. Those are really cool carts though, way ahead of their time.... buy and keep it for yourself to cruise in, go find a common G2, G9, Precedent or whatever to mod for offroad stuff so that if it's gets torn up, no problems.....

Thanks for the info. Being that my best friend builds commercial trash trucks from the ground up; I'm not woried about needing to modify down the road. Just wondered if basic running components were available or would I have to rebuild my own. Thanks

I'll probably be flamed for saying this but...
I won't recommend an old resistor coil cart for the kids to play with. They waste energy and tend to melt down when used hard or slow. The cart is a classic, I've had 3 myself. 2 gas and 1 electric... the electric melted down. And the 2 stroke gassers were great fun and very reliable. |
