Default Yamaha 48v charger for an ezgo

Can this charger be made to charge a 48 volt ezgo?
The ezgo has only 2 wires and this dc plug has 3.
Thanks.

Cool Re: Yamaha 48v charger for an ezgo

Yes.
Just cut the green wire. On the yamaha it tells the controller to not run when plugged in to the cart. It's not needed.

I talked to them this past week about the one I have. It's a throw away charger. I took the DC cord and put it on a Lestronic auto charger I had for a friend of mine.

Thanks Andy. It's hard to believe these are throwaways - they are going for $600 on Amazon.
Thanks again.

Don't throw it away. Send it to me , I will figure out how to repair it and I need one as well.

I dunno why anybody would want to spend $600 on a Yamaha charger when less than half that buys a good stand alone transformer type charger?

The charger I have is junk. I have fixed a bunch of chargers in my day. I have yet to figure out the EZGO q charger and now this one. Even Yamaha tech said throw it away.
I can buy 48 volt chargers all day for less than half that and have 10 times the charger in my opinion. Swapping the cord is nothing and the Lestronic charger is so much better. I've got 20 year old chargers that work and this one was a 08 charger. 4 years old and it's junk.
