Default Need help I.D this cart.

My wife and i are looking at a yamaha limo cart. 4 passenger. The id tag seems to be pulled off. I don't know the year. I did get a number off the left side hood. JR1-607303 6-volt trojan batteries. 36 volt electric golf cart. They are asking 3500. Let me know how to determine the year and worth.

According to the numbers you supplied it's a 2002 G19E. Not too bad a price for a limo. I would check the condition of the batteries before buying. There is a date code stamped into the terminals.

I hope there is an error here some how. G19E's were 48 volts. Should have 6 -8 volt batteries. Or if someone/the builder decided to change to 8-6 volts. Easy way to tell is...do the batteries have 3 cells per battery (6 volt) or 4 cells per battery (8 volt)? With an electric car I would look at the date code on the lead post of the battery, there will be a letter and a number, this tells you the month and year of manufacture. Remember batteries only have a life time to them (depending on how they were taken care of). And I would ask to have them "downloaded" ,this will tell you the run time and if there are any bad batteries in the set. It may cost the owner some money to have a shop perform this , but if you buy it and then find out you need to buy a new set of batteries......You Will Frown on your purchase! Good luck Dave

Sorry I wasn't more clear. One lead terminal will have the "letter/number" stamp and the other will have several letters/numbers. I would have to say "C2" means march of 2002. since this being 2008..Those batteries are 6 years old and at the end of there life. This is just my opinion...only a "download test" will give you a true evaluation.
