New motor/speed
I recently had an upgraded motor installed in my 2012 Yamaha golf cart (equipped with lights and turn signals and horn) and was wondering what type of top speed I should be able to obtain. Right now it is doing about 22-23 mph on flat surfaces (completely unloaded and with just me in it) and 17-18 going up a slight incline. Does this sound correct? *I was told it would go faster and am a little disappointed with such a small increase over the factory motor. I questioned the installer they said there would be a 30 day break-in period after which it should do 25-28 mph (I also have 12" tires). Does this sound right? *Is there any way to get it up to that speed if not or should it obtain that speed right away (is there a possible problem)? *Any advice/support would be greatly appreciated.*
Here is what is on the motor: M11-2541 Advanced DC DE2-4007-LR3.7Z1" High speed "the drive" |

Re: New motor/speed
Sorry but I do not know what the controller is set on. I do not know how to tell. I really do not know where the controller is either. How do you find it and tell the setting.
I tried to find the horsepower on the manufacturers web site but it is not listed and I cannot find it on the motor. |

Re: New motor/speed
It has 12" tires on it. Before the new motor it would do about 17-18 on flat surfaces.

It sounds like you have a bad motor and they dont want to replace it. have seen a lot of people get screwed that way |

Re: New motor/speed
They told me to give it the "30 day" break in period first and then call them. They are reputable and I have purchased several carts from them. The 30 day break in period sounds like BS to me though.

Yeah I think I agree. I just sent them an e-mail for some explanation. I am in Texas.
