battery box

anyone know of a company that makes battery boxes, the bottom section that welds to frame? This is the third cart I have had to fabricate boxes out of 1x1 angle iron, and this is very time consuming .thanks, lucky

I use old metal bed rails. When I see them at yard sales, I buy them, usually for a buck or two. Cut them with a grinder cutting wheel and weld them with a small 110volt "buzz box" stick welder. Is a little bit of work, but does the job and I actually enjoy seeing an old rust bucket come to life with new boxes. Don't know of any place that fabricates battery boxes, commercially. I am sure any local welding shop would whip you up some, if you took them the measurements, but unless you know them, they will probably be expensive. May be something we should look into....lol

I have an old cart I am goiing use concrete "rebarb" bars for boxes. Just weld two stripes down the middle of the box hole so the batteries will set on them. I Think that will work out ok and be lighter than building a full box out of bed rail 1" angle which are uisually 71/4" by 22". Will let ya know how it turns out.

I welded the rebar in and it worked great. The ole cart is an 84 3 wheeler, so the batteries fit snuggly into the hole on the rebar. Cheap and fast....
