New G8 owner need help rearend noise
Can someone help me I just bought a 1992 yamaha g8 and I noticed that when you take off and when you let off the pedal I hear a noise comeing from the rear end.The noise kinda sounds like backlash in the the gears slapping type noise . All so how do I check the oil in the rear end I can not find a fill hole or a drain hole. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it a gasser? If it is, it's probably the belt. when the driven pulley is going faster than the drive pulley it will sometimes cause the belt to slap to make up for the speed differrence.

no it is electric guess i should have said that . I have the rear Axel out just trying to figure out how to get it apart without screwing anything up. The replacement parts for these thing are ridiculously expensive for what you are getting.
