Default G2 Frame differences

I have what I believe is a Yamaha G2. It's electric, but there are no numbers on the overly rusted frame.

Anyway, because the frame is rusted through in 3 different spots (as in, non-existant) and the battery tray is completely gone, I'm looking to pick up a used frame. I found one locally on Craigslist, It's a G2 gas frame.

Just wondering if anyone knows if the frames are different or nearly identical? I assume the battery tray won't be there, but for cost purposes, I'd bet they would of mass produced the frames for the two carts very similarly.

Just looking for a little reassurance that the frame will work

Ryan. Depending on the year, the serial number will be on a tag either on the rear bumper frame rail or the crossmember that the seat is hinged to closest to the driver side. As far as all G2 frames being the same, I can't say for sure but I think they are because lift kits are always listed as " fits all G2 and G9 models". G2,s were made from 85 till 91.

As far as I know, there aren't any real differences, other than the under-seat area(battery-tray vs engine-mounting).A couple quick measurements will tell you if the swing-arm mounting is the same, thats the only part that may be different,if they moved something for clearance-reasons.Hope this helps.

I'm actually thinking it may be a G9 now, but I can't find a 'tag' anywhere. Not on the rear bumper rail, the crossmember the seat is hinged to, or anywhere else.

Do the G2 and G9 share the same frame....Or better yet, will everything from the G9 bolt up to a G2 frame? Not talking body, that can be changed later...but the motor, suspension, tires, steering, etc?

Thanks again
