Default 1993 yamaha g8 question

I'm looking at buying a 93 Yamaha g8 on craigslist for $350. The owner bought it last September from a guy that said it ran but the batteries were bad. The new owner was going to switch it over to a gas engine but never got around to it. My questions are, how much does it cost to switch one from electric to gas? How hard is it? And is it worth the price he is asking? The cart itself is in great looking shape. I dont want to bite off more than can chew if it its going to be super hard. Thanks in advance.

Extremly expensive to change to gas. I wouldn't consider it, even at that price, if you can't prove it operates. Maby take 3 -12 volt batteries, just to prove the controller/motor ect work? And there would have to be a working charger also.

There is a charger with it, all electronics come with it. Can you operate a 37 volt cart on 3 12 volt batteries? For a long time? Or is it not recommended.

The 3 12's was only a suggestion to see if the car operates. You would have a very low run time. 6- 6 volts is the way to go.
