New to G8-E
My first Yamaha G8E (93), usually only tinker with CC. Just started the tear down and have not gotten a parts or service manual yet and have a question. The F/R switch...do I have to unhook all the cables to get it out? Is there a trick that I'm missing? What I'm needing to do is remove the cowl so I can get in there. Any help is appreciated

Re: New to G8-E
Disregard...4 10mm bolts and it's out. Not as much action around here as there used to be.

Re: New to G8-E
Cart has been almost completely stripped down.
First issue to address was the lift kit. It was one of those $85.00 shock extention setups. I think they should be illegal. The cart was leaning towards the drivers side and when in motion you heard all kinds of clanking. All of the bolts from that set up were loose, the shocks were not able to handle that setup. I replaced the shocks in the rear (that had those shock extenders) with some Chevy truck shocks that I found at the local automotive store. I'll post pictures next time (need to take em). I then did some welding on the front end and replaced those shocks with some Harley Davidson 13-1/2" chrome coilovers (I'll post pics once I take em). |
