G19 Yamaha reverse buzzer but nothing else

Hey guys,

I've been reading this forum for a while now and after many hours searching still did not find my answer!

as the title states, when i switch the cart from tow to run, the reverse buzzer comes on, but thats all! i've buzzed out all cabling and it all appears fine, the batteries are new, i've tested the motor and it runs witht he wheels propped off the ground, and an 8V battery connected in parallel across the field coil and armature, it is a bit jerky though, could be the wheels.

so the best guess i have is the controller is dead. does anybody with more experience in fault finding carts agree with me? just need to confirm before i fork out the big bucks on a new controller!

also does the dcx400 have any protection for a field coil going open circuit? cheers in advance!

Did either of you guys ever find the problem. I'm having the exact same symptoms as you described. I've replaced the controller, f/r switch, key switch, accelerator stop switch and battery cables. What ever happened in your situation?

What does your cart do/not do? Solenoid click when tow/run switch turned on? Click when pedal pressed? What brand controller?

Bought non-working cart. Local dealership went through it told me it needed a controller. I replaced controller and battery cables. When I switch from tow to run, I hear solenoid click and reverse buzzer sounds as if in reverse. nothing else works from there. f/r doesn't turn buzzer off, replaced that switch, still nothing. Replaced key switch, still no change. replaced accelerator stop switch. Still same thing. Just continuous buzzer.

2000 G19E Ultima. All stock components.

I think thats a fault in the controller or wire harness.
