G19E conversion to Club Car charger
Hello everyone!
I've got a Yamaha G19E but the charger (Schauer Model JAC1548H) is broken. (No green LED) However, I have an extra 48V Club Car Power Drive charger that works. Is it possible to switch the charger receptacle on the Yamaha and use the Power Drive as a charger? I've noticed the Yamaha only has a two prong plug but the Power Drive uses a three prong. It appears there is a "charger control" wire on the Yamaha, but it's connected to the positive terminal. My theory is to install a new three prong receptacle into the Yamaha and connect this so called "charger control" wire to the third prong instead of the positive. Will this work? Thanks in advance!! |

Re: G19E conversion to Club Car charger
this will not work, heres why. the yamaha charger has a control board inside the charger to tell it to turn on and when to turn off. the clubcar charger has no control board in the charger, instead relying on an OnBoardComputer on the golf cart to regulate charger function. there are aftermarket control boards available to add to that charger to make it self contained.
